Zach and I met in January of 2002 through mutual friends, Chris Fuller and Katie Moore. I was a senior at Exeter High School and Zach was a junior at Newmarket Jr./Sr. High School. We were first introduced on a Wednesday, had our first date on the following Friday and well…here we are about to take the big plunge into married life!
Much of our relationship was spent in Keene, NH where we both attended Keene State College for our Undergrad programs in education and architecture. Together we made new friends, explored hiking trails, participated in the Annual Pumpkin Festival activities and achieved our professional/academic goals.
We have been fortunate to be able to do some traveling together throughout the years as well. We have traveled to Ohio and North Carolina for the famous Smith family reunions, New York/Long Island, Washington D.C. and Colorado. Most recently we even traveled out of the country to Berlin, Germany and London, England.
After Zach’s graduation from KSC in 2007 we decided to take a weekend getaway to the White Mountains. On our way up we took a detour and drove along the Kangamangus Highway to take in some of the amazing views. At one of the scenic overlooks Zach popped the big question. After six years of dating…and waiting…we were finally engaged! The ring that Zach gave me has two beautiful diamonds in it that came from his mother’s family, making the sentimental value that much more special.
Since then Zach has been busy completing his Graduate work in Architecture at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. I have been working as an Early Childhood Infant Teacher at the Timberland Children’s Center (Bright Horizon’s Family Solutions) in Stratham, NH.
We are looking forward to our lives together…the good, the bad and the ugly. We were both so lucky to have been raised in such loving homes and have always been surrounded by people that have supported us. Our parents truly have taught both of us, by example, what it means to love someone unconditionally and how to maintain a successful marriage. We can only hope to be as lucky as they are and love each other always.
